Diddy x HSN

"The rapper talked to callers as he sold robes and hundreds of ladies perfume gift sets.

Cheesy or not though, Diddy's wares, including I Am King and his other fragrance Unforgivable, were said to have sold out in 16 minutes." [via Sky News]

Diddy should make a song called "Diddy gettin' that money".
And here's my version:

CHORUS
Diddy gettin' that money
(Diddy gettin' that money)
Diddy gettin' big money
(Diddy gettin' big money)
Bad Boy won't stop
(Bad Boy won't stop)
Sean John? Outta stock
(Sean John? Outta stock)

VERSE:
Home Shopping Network
Earned me 2 cars
Unforgivable,
Purchase with a debit card...

Feel free to write the rest in comments... We all know he can't (lol)

The Hiatus: Explained

This is just a quick post.

My hiatus. Has been frequent but never too lengthy. Full-time schooling, a part-time job and trying to find the right "voice" for my blog are the main reasons for my procrastination.

I am back though! I don't know exactly where I am going with the blog but I do have an inkling. That is: music, fashion, spotlights and "articles". See
News for a clue

The big problem is I know too much about things I don't need to know about. So I want to post too much, that is the problem. The proof? 15 DRAFTED posts.

So from now on I'll just post, ask you guys for feedback and see where it goes...

Thanks for reading as always.

Birthday!

I am lucky enough to have been blessed with another year of life. A great but turbulent one at that! Still it, didn't make it any less great.

I achieved and experienced so much from 2008 to 2009 that I truly have to be grateful but there is definitely more I want to achieve and experience!

2008-2009: Achievements & Experiences
I got great results!
I became closer with my family and friends.
I went to my first concert and festival (The Game and O2 Wireless).
I fought through a really rough patch.
I met some great people.
I GOT A JOB!
I made my blog!
I started college (it's a lot of work)

Starting with school and this blog, today I vow to just work harder. Sometimes you have to wade through the weeds to get to the clearing. That means putting in work, hours and effort to reap the rewards later.

Thank you to all my readers, followers, family and friends. I just want to say thank you for being you! For clicking onto this blog, for checking in, COMMENTING! (love those comments!)

I truly feel loved today and it's a beautiful thing!

Keep following the blog it's just going to get bigger and better (a make-over is on it's way!)

Where The Money Goes...

It's not good to treat yourself with others money.

I'm not sure why but that phrase popped into my head and has been stuck there for a few days, so I thought I'd blog about it: (welcome to one of my rants)

I understand that life's circumstances aren't always perfect, so you may have to borrow money from your friends or the bank. But that money should only be spent on necessities or when it's necessary. For example, don't borrow £50 from your friend to buy a £30 top from River Island. If you go to Uni or whatever use it to buy a textbook that you need or pay for something to enrich your occupation.

The thing is when you are young, you aren't really taught to be responsible with money, so when the time comes that you have a lot of money, you spend it. But you have to be responsible first so that you have the option and not the impulse to spend.

Some tips:
When buying clothes or shoes just take a second and think: Would I actually pay this much for this? Does it actually look worth that price? Saves a-lotta monies - this just means is it good value.

I used to think a lot of people were rich. Then I realised a lot of people have credit cards. - That's what I used to think but interest rates and re-payments aren't fun especially when you can't pay it back.

You are responsible for the cash flow as well as the debt, so take care of yourself... You've been warned!

Wrist Candy: The silver/sport watch

Every woman should have these 5 types of watches (in no particular order). Work, weekend, whatever. Each allows for individuality whilst giving an air of feminity, originality and yet remaining classic.

My favourite and only watch in my collection as of now. I love it. It's not too big, not too many "diamonds" and the mother of pearl dial adds extra feminitity. A great watch to build a collection on as it's great for casual, creative or corporate.

Kid Cudi - Pursuit of Happiness (David Letterman LIVE)

I love Young Scotty aka Kid Cudi. This performance is great and I do believe the core of his talent lies in his melodies. Performed a while ago but none the less:

Cop that Disc: Man on the Moon: The End of The Day, in stores now.

Random

Random and a little ran-dum:

But still makes me laugh a little...

Chipmunk - Oopsy Daisy

I like the song (Out Now), especially how he say oops in the first verse. Take a looksie:

What I don't like, is what he wore for the MOBO's. Chipmunk, why are you wearing a turtleneck? The dancing on stage, I can let go, but why look like 48 year old at his niece's party on stage?

Still like the single art:
Talented rapper, all the same...

Hunting: Comfortable Flat shoes

I am on a hunt. For some comfortable flat shoes. Keyword: COMFORTABLE.

I'm not ready (nor is my bank account) for designer yet but I hear Lanvin, Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo & Chanel are among the best.(Apparently, Marc Jacobs is not the one AT ALL)

A little lower and more relatable in price range are Topshop & French Sole.

So until my account is a little more in the green, I'll settle for these Accessorize flats:

I am a sucker for leopard print when done right (aka not on lycra) especially leopard print shoes with a black bow. I wore my old New Look ones to death and they need a replacement PRONTO. At £28, I might have a winner with Accessorize! Double Bow Leopard Print Ballerina Pumps

Expect a leopard post soon!

Any comfortable flat shoes for recommendation?

Natalie

PS: To my dear readers: College has been pretty hectic hence the lack of posts once again I apologize but keep checking in! As soon as I am back to speed, I'll be back to blogging!

Gotta Work

" 'Cos when you feeling low/ And you can't get no lower/ That's when you know you're close/ Sometimes you gotta work hard for it "

I felt this song was appropriate to welcome in the week:

Work hard for it.

The Bold and the Blue

I don't really understand the "sad" connotation with the colour blue. Since when did staring the sky make us sad? Isn't it where most of our dreams came from?

Blue is such a bold colour that doesn't necessarily scream "Look at me!", but still receives enough attention. Forget about the lady in red, it's all about the lady in blue. She calmly walks on the pavement yet seems to be living in a dream. Maybe she was staring at the sky for too long ;)

The Bold and The Blue. The Bold and The Beautiful. I don't see much difference between the two.

Something about a scholar...

The backpack.

The back-to-school essential will always have a place in my heart.

Canvas, Polyester, Leather, whatever the material, I give kudos to the backpack. My brother and Andy from the Segment have made want to re-invest in one (the InCase one to be specific) since I go to school and have a "helluva" (hell of a) a lot of ringbinders.

Knowledge (and shoulder support) is power.

News...

A lot of updates are a-coming and a lot of new material, I just want to present it in the right way to all you "guys". This blog is not just a fashion blog, it's a lifestyle blog, which means music, mayhem and madness! Fashion, tidbits, music, spotlights and the occassional word (or four).

Stay tuned and I promise you won't be dissappointed. Regular posting and all that good stuff.

In the meantime, check out these funky-fresh blogs which I love for all different reasons, but it's love all the same:

Ravishing in Red

(I'm sorry I had to include the Lanvin skirt suit. I love the volumizing/semi peplum effect.)

Red is quite a powerful colour, non?

The lady in red is always seen as a vixen, everything a woman should be and everything we fear. Strong, independent, raunchy and fun - all by herself.

Whenever the transition of summer to fall comes, red is the colour all women return to. Whether on their clothes, nails or accessories, all women join the red movement, daring fall to come.

So I ask you all to join me and all other women to rock, wear red.

And do it well...

Hat Hair, non?

Thanks to the stylish ladies of Purveyor of Style & Coco & Lowe, I have now realised the importance of hats in a girl's wardrobe. For me, they are to save other eyes from my hair when it's not - er - at its best. My hat, heart was set on getting a hat from Zara but I simply have not had the time.

Instead I will be buying the Castor Natural Straw hat (above) to cover my head of hair.

Transition

tran·si·tion
n.
1. Passage from one form, state, style, or place to another.

Transition is a feature on Paris St. where I look a runway trend, see how it influences high-street stores and then take a picture of a person wearing it.

I have yet to capture a subject for transition, so this is an introduction.

Breaking It Up

Lykke Li (lick-a-lee) has always looked like a Chloé model to me in this video. Middle parting, sequins, Balenciaga-esque boots, a chock load of chains and matte make-up, she looks the part.

How sick is the knee knocking and her "heartbeat" dance?!

If you like her style, check out the items below:

I fell in love with Lykke Li ever since Drake remixed "Little Bit". Her debut album, Youth Novels is out now.

You're welcome.

My entry for the first La Couturier giveaway!

But alas, I didn't win... Still I thought I should post it any way, so here you go!

“Leave your mark wherever you go…” Natalie’s mother’s words kept on replaying in her head as she applied her Carbon Gloss L’Oreal eyeliner across her already smudged smoky eye. As she drew back from her oval mirror, her pearl earrings caught her eye, glinting in the early sunrise. She quickly glanced at the alarm clock by her bedside table. 4.52am. She wasn’t getting in, she was just about to go out. Her internship at Elle in Paris meant working crazy hours and looking insanely good at all times. She tousled her hair whilst thinking what to wear today. She wasn’t actually going to work right now, but she loved to sit in the coquettish café around the corner with the Guardian and a pain au chocolat. Nothing like something sweet to start the day, she thought. Natalie began to sweep up her dark hair from her shoulders into a bun whilst inspecting her appearance. A 6-inch pair of Red Christian Louboutin Jefferson peep-toe sandals which added miles to her long Current/Elliot The Legging clad legs. Her Lela Rose Silk-blend taffeta blouse was half tucked into her leggings to give that “dishevelled” look. Her Gucci blazer wore – originally for men – she had the blazer tailored to hug her curves, embracing her femininity. “Today is definitely one to make a mark upon” she mumbled from her deep rouge stained lip with the final bobby pin in between her lips. She finally pinned her chignon, picked her Blackberry Bold from her dressing table and swung her Marciano Stachel into the crook of her arm, ready for last day. She closed her room door and grinned, anticipating the Alexander Wang show and a possible-real life encounter with Carine Roitfeld. After all Natalie, was here to leave her mark… xxo

P.S. It's a story, so that explains all the adjectives and what not.. Enjoy

Currently lusting: Draped Cardigans

Currently lusting after: a draped cardigan.

Draped cardigans are glorious (even though I have yet to wear one), as they can be belted or not for a "waterfall/rippled" collar effect. An all-American Ralph Lauren design aesthetic tan leather belt would be perfect. Shades of gray, blue, black and brown are ideal as they are neutral, somewhat quiet and yet demure. Lightweight, they are truly a transition piece. So think of it as an investment or a tribute to romanticism as the faux ruffles on the collar deem it so.

A polyvore is included just so we can lust together... Lust, love and live together is my motto (haha not really - at all).
